Ian Cripps is a motor bike enthusiast and also a keen SCUBA diver since visiting us at Elite Diving two years ago. Making three visits per year to his favorite dive center, his skills and qualifications has progressed tremendously.
Ian has become like one of the family. His kind heart and easy going nature has adhered him to his fellow divers and staff alike.
While on his last day diving on his last visit, Ian along with his fellow divers, encountered a whale shark swimming around the boat, as Lido was moored up. Most of the divers and staff jumped in the water with their masks and snorkels and approached the big fish slowly and carefully to get a better view of this monumentous creature. It was quite happy for them to do so (without touching of course). If that wasn't enough, later that day, the whole group came across another whale shark whilst on a dive at a different location. Everyone who was there even our resident Marine Biologist, 'Alec Jones' concurs that the second whale shark was different to the first. It was the size that gave the clue although things look a third bigger under water, everyone agreed it was a second one. Who cares!
At the start of the video, you can see Alec out in front of the shark, and at the end, there is Karen saying good buy to it as it swims slowly into the blue.
